MK candidates list out March 16, manifesto March 19

Tamil Nadu's ruling DMK Monday announced it will release the list of its candidates Wednesday while its manifesto for the April 13 assembly elections will be announced Saturday.

The party has also called a meeting of its allies Friday (March 18), a party statement here said.

According to the statement, DMK president and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi would release the party's candidate list March 16.

As just five days are remaining for the aspirants to file nominations, the party has decided to release the full list of its candidates on March 16, it said.

More than 16,000 aspiring candidates applied for DMK tickets and the party's top brass conducted interviews to select its candidates.

The DMK said its poll manifesto would be released Saturday (March 19).
